Residents have contacted members of the City Council and staff asking how they can report concerns about Political Signature-Gathering Tactics.
If you wish to log a complaint with the Elections Officer, you can do so by submitting an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your complaint will be filed and aggregate counts of complaints and their nature will be reported upon request.
You may also wish to review California Elections Code Sections 18600 to 18604, Improper Signature-Gathering Tactics. If you believe your complaint is a violation under these code sections, you may want to contact the Central Marin Police Authority to file a police report. Call 415-927-5150 to arrange an appointment to file a report. The nature of this type of crime requires you to make a report in person at the CMPA station. Please note that in addition to evidence that voters were misled, the Elections Code requires evidence that the signature gatherer knowingly intended to mislead.
