We are pleased to welcome back Marin Humane Society's Share-a-Book program. Twice a month a specially trained volunteer team of a dog and its owner will visit our library. The patient, nonjudgmental attention these dogs offer helps beginning, struggling, or reluctant readers gain confidence and improve their reading skills. By reading aloud to a certified trained dog, readers build confidence in reading skills through practicing reading aloud in a safe space. Pre-readers will have the chance to tell a story, or show pictures to a quiet and friendly trained dog. Children may pick out their favorite books from the library's collection to share. Each reader will have about 15 minutes of one to one time with our volunteer dog and its owner (depending on demand), and on a first come first served basis.
