The Larkspur City Council initiated the General Plan Update in June 2010. The process went on hiatus in winter of 2011 due to initiation of the SMART Station Area Plan process.

The General Plan Update CAC consisted of 15 community members appointed by the City Council, and six appointed members representing City boards and commissions and the Marin Commission on Aging. The GPUCAC were tasked with identifying important community issues, providing input on General Plan policies, and encouraging community involvement in the General Plan Update.

The CAC concluded its review of the draft General Plan Elements on November 14, 2011. Their recommendations are reflected in the draft General Plan Elements below. Please note that these chapters have not been edited since 2011, and as such may contain out of date or missing information. In light of this, it is anticipated that the City Council will direct staff to update all draft Elements in the near future to reflect current events, demographic data, and other information that has changed since that time.
