Larkspur Library Display Case - July 2019

Ron Rosano: Apollo 11 Moon Landing Artifacts

For as long as he can remember, Ron has been fascinated with space travel and possibilities of the infinite universe. He has been an astronomy and spaceflight educator since 1995, and is currently a NASA Solar System Ambassador. He works with the charity Galactic Unite, and organizes live video SpaceChats with Virgin Galactic and classrooms around the world. He is ticketed to fly into space with Virgin Galactic on the SpaceShipTwo. He has collected original photographs, maps, and even a transcript of communication between Apollo 11 and Mission Control at NASA Headquarters. He is proud to display these rare artifacts to honor the 50th Anniversary of the First Moon Landing on July 20, 1969.

Ron Rosano will be hosting a presentation entitled "On the Moon with Apollo: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the First Moon Landing" on Thursday, July 11th from 7:00-8:00pm at the Central Marin Police Authority Community Room at 250 Doherty Drive in Larkspur. This is a free event for families and children hosted by Larkspur Library.

The Larkspur Library Display Case is located inside the front entrance of the library. The work of local artists is displayed for one month at a time. For more information contact the library at (415) 927-5005.
